During this Q&A we’ll explore the journeys and experiences of the people on the panel going into the tech sector, what helped them to identify their strengths and areas of focus as they entered and progressed in their workplaces, and what they think is important for anyone considering a leadership role in the future. We’ll talk about what a leadership role within tech looks like, and the opportunities and challenges a developer might face as they take on more responsibility within their work. We’ll also look at it from an employer's perspective, exploring when this role might be valuable and what you need to consider before introducing different leadership pathways within your tech team.
Through “NOTT POETRY : Stories that show our courage” we will celebrate Nottingham people and businesses by creating a space to connect, and share stories that have given us courage and brought us through tough times. In this event, through interactive activities we will collectively voice and translate our words to gain more of an understanding of our own and others lived experiences. At the end, you will leave with a piece of poetry, as rough or polished as you’d like, to celebrate and remind you of your victories no matter how big or small.
Through “NOTT ART: Memories that connect us” we want to celebrate Nottingham people and businesses by exploring different ways of documenting moments and collective art-making. In this event, we will create a small scale paper model of the city and share stories of our encounters here. We invite you to make notes of your memories and attach them to the paper replica city, beginning to map overlapping experiences and tangled lives.
